Despite its name, Terminal Five is the fourth working terminal at the airport and is known to locals as the Aerocaribbean terminal due to AeroCaribbean Airlines operating the majority of flights to and from it.

Cuban based charter flight provider Aerotaxi also operate flights from the terminal, making it a specialist in both regional and local flights to the Caribbean region. The Terminal is located in the south east corner of the airfield, just south of threshold 24. During Terminal Two’s reconstruction in 2010, Terminal Five was converted to handle all inbound and outbound US flights and as such still has some basic facilities for passengers.
