Terminal One is located on the west side of runway six. It was originally built for use as an international terminal way back in the 1930s but after the building of Terminal Two in 1988, it found itself being used predominantly as a base for domestic operations. Local airlines, Cubana de Aviacion, Aerogaviota and AeroCaribbean, operate the majority of flights from this terminal with flights to locations across the Caribbean region.

For many years it was the only terminal at the airport and as such handled the majority of flights in and out of Havana.
