In terms of car rental services there are a number of companies that are represented at Havana Airport. These include Via Rent a Car, Transtour, Rex (which provides luxury cars and limousines), Rent a Car, Fenix and Cubanacar. All these services are available at the Arrivals Area.

The car rental option is ideal for competent and experienced drivers who are adept at handling manual transmissions and know what it takes to change car tires. For most car rental agencies in Cuba the minimum driver’s age is 21 but it is sometimes the case that expensive rentals services will demand a minimum age of 25 or 30. Another important observation to note before going for a rental car is that road signage is indicated in Spanish and this may compel you to stop and ask for explanations. A phrase book or dictionary will come in handy as well.
